Detailed Description
'Linda Sue' is a registered 1999 introduction from Van Wade, originating as a thick-leaved sport of the classic 'Frances Williams'. It is noted for tetraploid characteristics and ranks near the top for leaf substance among hostas.
The foliage is blue-green with an extra-wide, non-burning margin that opens greenish-yellow and matures to golden yellow. Leaves are thick, very cupped, and very corrugated, with strong edge variegation that holds well through the season. It is a slow grower prized by collectors for its impressive texture.
Green scapes carry near-white flowers in June to July, completing a refined clump that stands out for its durable gold margins and heavy substance.
