Description
First came ‘Fire Island’, followed by its variegated product ‘Paradise Island’, and now there is ‘Island Breeze’, the newest member of this “tropical” family. Even more impressively variegated due to its wider margins, it also boasts a thicker leaf substance and strong growth rate. Wide, dark green margins are sharply contrasted to the bright yellow centers in early spring. As summer approaches, the centers become more chartreuse with more shade or lighter yellow with more sun. This hosta also has signature red speckled petioles that bleed up into the leaves. Dark lavender flowers appear on reddish green scapes in midsummer.

This is a fantastic sport of a great landscape hosta 'Francee'. The leaves stand up better than the average hosta into the summer months. Beautiful lavender flowers on a 30" scape in July. The magins start out creamy yellow in the spring and transition into a nice crisp white margin later into the season.
